Palma airport taxi rankings: more than half an hour wait at one o’clock in the morning
Active taxi drivers went to Son Sant Joan to offer a solution to new arrivals.
A new episode of collapse due to a lack of taxis at Palma airport. At one o’clock in the morning this Tuesday, almost 300 people had to wait for more than half an hour to get a service. Some of those affected explained that several flights had come together, some of them delayed, which caused a large backlog of people.
Son Sant Joan has experienced several similar situations this year, especially in summer, when visitors and residents have reported the problems of getting a palma airport taxi on the internet because of the endless queues. The images show how dozens of people wait their turn in the queue even though there are no vehicles waiting at the station.
As this newspaper has learnt, the switchboard decided to notify all the stations to try to solve the problem and the taxi drivers who were active quickly went to the airport to provide service to the new arrivals. This reinforcement was important because it speeded up the queue and everyone was able to access transport.
